Tasks and activities

Tool Technicians process materials by hand and on machines, and assemble mechanical parts and produced components into modules. This includes the measurement and inspection of the components and modules, as well as mold trials of simple tools during final acceptance.

  • producing construction elements with hand-operated tools
  • measuring and inspecting switches and devices
  • producing construction elements with machines
  • producing simple modules
  • maintenance of technical systems
  • wire cutting, eroding, and high-speed millign
  • trade basics: drilling, turning, trimming, cutting
  • creating programs as well as creating and processing work pieces on numerically controlled tooling machines
  • producing forming tool surfaces
  • planning and producing technical toolmaking systems
  • changing and adapting technical toolmaking systems
  • materials science, occupational safety, and environmental protection
